Chris Hermon, who co-founded Forest River’s Prime Time Manufacturing division, and spent 10 years overseeing brands at Keystone RV, is the new president of Heartland Recreational Vehicles. Hermon succeeded Brian Brady, who retired. Heartland, based in Elkhart, Indiana, makes travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and destination trailers. It is a subsidiary of Thor Industries.

Companies and individuals making donations to the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana, can enhance their gift by buying a brick in the hall’s Walk of Fame by August 31. Brick purchases made by that date will qualify for matching funds from a $100,000 challenge grant.
Wholesale shipments of RVs continued to grow in the first four months of this year, but all the gain was in towable RVs, with motorhomes continuing to lag.
Total shipments through April reached 98,400 units a gain of 9.7 percent over the same months in 2011. Of that total, 9,400 were motorhomes, a decline of 3 percent from a year ago.
