Two of the nation’s largest RV manufacturers, Thor Industries and Winnebago Industries, reported major sales increases as they ended their 2013 fiscal years.
Thor said it ended its fiscal year July 31 with strong growth in motorhome sales and more modest growth in the sales of travel trailers and fifth-wheels. Towable RV sales were $2.65 billion, a 16 percent increase over the previous year, and motorized RV sales were $591.5 million, a 67 percent increase.
Fleetwood RV has appointed John Lowry as chief operating officer. He is a former Marine Corps officer who retired with the rank of colonel and previously worked at Harley-Davidson as general manager of power train operations. He holds an MBA from Harvard University.
