“We stopped at Kate’s kitchen for a hearty breakfast, not six blocks from where we purchased this bus. While we turned into the parking lot, we crashed into their awning, and ripped off our awning brace. The owner of the place was not happy and our awning was dragging on the ground. The police were called and what a riot. We got the bracket off, parked and went in for breakfast. After apologies and things settled down, we ate, and the owner was so gracious she insisted on buying our breakfast. Can you imagine us crashing into her establishment and she buys breakfast! Midwestern people are wonderful. On we go with our awning held on with bungee cords, and a big smear along the side of an otherwise perfect body.”

Another one of our staff members, Toni Knudson, is the author of “The Healthy Traveler” blog encompassing everything to do with staying healthy. Recently we attended an event near our home in Park City, Utah, where one of our advertisers, Trikke, had a demo booth for all of their products. Here’s part of her report:
“So I got to hop on the new Tribred and give it a ‘go.’ I loved it! It’s definitely the answer for small inclines, yet it operates the same way as the human-powered T8Airs we have at home. You rock and roll with it, leaning into your turns to keep you going forward. Just ease off the throttle to use more of your own energy or throttle up a bit to allow the Tribred’s light electric power to propel you along. Anyone can ride a Tribred. And the best part is that it’s environmentally responsible. And it’s an excellent alternative to fossil fuels. It also folds up for easy portability in an RV, and would be perfect transportation for getting around the RV resort or campground. What a fun way to get your daily exercise and stay fit as a fiddle!”
Toni promises to bring you all kinds of tidbits you can use to get and stay healthier along your RV travels and beyond, so check back often to discover her latest blog entries.
One other note: the print edition of RV Life will once again include a crossword puzzle, beginning in December, in response to the requests of many of our readers. So enjoy, and I’ll see you next month!
