One of the exciting new features of 2016 Chevy and GMC pickup trucks is the puck system. While previous models have been offered with a towing prep package, the 2016 package will include the 5th wheel/gooseneck mounting system built into the truck bed, similar to the Ford and Ram vehicles. To meet the demands of this development, CURT Manufacturing has introduced a new set of 5th wheel legs made specifically for the 2016 GM trucks.
Like the Ford and Ram 5th wheel legs currently offered by CURT, the GM OEM-compatible legs streamline the setup process. According to the company, once the legs are bolted onto the 5th wheel hitch head, they easily drop into the truck bed mounting platform. They also use a quarter-turn anchoring system for fast installation and removal, and the anchors can be adjusted to eliminate chucking between the legs and under-bed rails.
For maximum versatility within the CURT 5th wheel line, the legs for GM feature a gross trailer weight capacity of 25,000 pounds, allowing them to be compatible with any CURT 5th wheel hitch. The legs can also be purchased as a standalone or as a package with each CURT 5th wheel hitch model, including the Q25, Q24, Q20, A20, A16 and E16 (capacity limited to lowest-rated towing component).
The legs come with a durable carbide black powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty.
