With the Winter Olympics just completed and the snow starting to melt, the Whistler area can once again turn its attention to golf. With arguably some of the best golf in British Columbia, the Whistler area has lots of quality courses to choose from. One course that garners repeated awards and accolades is Big Sky Golf and Country Club, located a half-hour north of Whistler at the base of 8,300-foot Mount Currie in Pemberton.

For golfers waiting to get their game on during these cold winter months, visiting a local golf show is one way of preparing for the season. A host of golf shows around the country, and the world for that matter, are scheduled over the next few months. This year, golf shows can be found globally in Moscow, Beijing, Seoul, Manila, London, Prague and Toronto. But the ever-popular Vancouver Golf & Travel Show in British Columbia won’t be held this year. Because of the Winter Olympics scheduled for Feb. 12-28, the show has been postponed until next year, specifically Feb. 19-20, 2011.

Earlier this summer, singer and actor Justin Timberlake and his family christened a new golf course in Tennessee called Mirimichi Golf Course. Originally called Woodstock Hills, the completely renovated and updated course benefited from a whopping $16 million in upgrades and improvements.
