Redwood RV, which builds fifth wheels designed for full-time living, has acquired Carriage’s brands and intellectual property at auction.
Redwood RV, based in Syracuse, Indiana, has been hiring former Carriage employees and said it will carry on the Carriage legacy. Carriage, founded in 1968, closed last year, ending production of its high-end fifth wheels marketed under the Cabo, Cameo, Carri-Lite and Royals International bands.
Redwood RV is a division of CrossRoads RV, which is owned by Thor Industries. Specific plans for the Carriage brands were not disclosed, but Don Emahiser, president of Redwood and CrossRoads, said, “We feel strongly that the RV industry needs its historic brands, so we look forward to bringing this iconic name back to the marketplace.”
