Thor Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer, announced preliminary RV sales of $1.06 billion for the first six months of its fiscal year, ending January 31. This is a 13 percent increase over the same period a year ago.
“Results from January retail RV shows have been positive, with good attendance and retail sales activity reported at most shows, reflecting rebounding consumer confidence, access to credit and low interest rates,” said Peter B. Orthwein, Thor chairman, CEO and president.
Meanwhile, Thor also announced that Bob Martin, who had been president of its largest subsidiary, Keystone RV, has been named RV group president. Thor’s six RV companies—Keystone, Airstream, CrossRoads, Dutchmen, Heartland and Thor Motor Coach—will report to Martin. Matt Zimmerman, who has been in sales and management at Keystone for 13 years, succeeds Martin as president of Keystone.
