Drivin’ fast and charging fuel bills
Jan and Bill drove, packed to the gills
From Washington they came with laughter and light
It’s just days til Christmas. That’s outta sight!
Though it’s three a.m. and I can’t sleep,
I know it ain’t cause of creatures that creep.
Home Depot devices plugged into the walls
Keep those critters that creep out of my halls.
A suitcase lingers on my living room chair
Surprises from St. Nick are packed somewhere in there.
Granddaughter Rebecca arrives early morning.
Alaska Airlines if you’re late, please give us some warning.
Virginia’s deep snow is beginning to soften
Tom, Tracey, and Will, who don’t get here too often,
Thought their deep snow was fun and so spiffy,
But their flight out of DC may be even more iffy.
Praying the airplanes wouldn’t be hijacked.
These last four progeny so judiciously packed.
It’s all carry-on luggage to avoid the big bucks.
The airlines charges? Well, that practice just sucks!
We’ve rented a house so we’ll all fit inside
For a Week of Adventure with our arms open wide
With the six kids in Phoenix, this Mom will be happy
Can you tell it’s now four and I’m dragging and sappy?
Do I wish you the Merriest of Christmases, YES!
Until next week’s blog, I leave you, God Bless
