What do the following individuals have in common: John Updike, Carly Simon, Winston Churchill, Marilyn Monroe, Lewis Carroll, James Earl Jones, and Ken Venturi? They were all famous and successful in their respective fields, and they all stuttered. Today, October 22, is International Stammering (Stuttering) Awareness Day. The 1964 U.S. Open champion Ken Venturi won […]

In this coach we did a fairly extensive remodel. On the floor we installed luxury vinyl tiles on most of the main floor and carpet in the cab area, slide outs and bedroom. We installed a lighter color, installed on a diamond pattern with a darker grey grouting to make it stand out. We build several […]
“Autumn is the year’s loveliest smile…,” a line I borrowed from a sign in a chainsaw artist’s booth at Silver Dollar City’s National Harvest Festival. A golden October day at the City, as we affectionately call the 1890’s themed park, is synonymous with all things autumn. Gaily costumed scarecrows, bundled cornstalks, fall leaves and flowers, […]
With more and more breaking stories concerning the importance of movement, stretching, and proper circulation while being sedentary, it is vital that those who vacation on the road be aware of how to protect themselves. Fortunately the methods to resolve any possibility of sedentary induced malady are simple, cost little, and require only knowledge and […]

Arctic Fox’s Northwood Manufacturing, once again brought dealers from throughout the Western United States and Western Canada to their manufacturing complex in La Grande, OR. (One dealer traveled all the way from New Hampshire.) Company executives were on hand to interact with the dealers to solidify relationships and collect feedback. While unveiling a multitude of product refinements was the primary focus, the major underlying theme was that, in spite of all the changes the products have undergone, Northwood (as a company and the way they conduct business) has not changed. Ward King, Northwood COO, clearly stated that “Northwood’s objective is to provide both dealers and the end user with the best built towable products in the market. Northwood has built its reputation by providing dependable, high value recreation vehicles by insisting upon quality components and demanding quality craftsmanship from our dedicated production line associates. Ron Nash’s stamp is on everything that we do- it is our company culture. We could not abandon that influence; it is the solid foundation on which we build. That commitment will never change.”
I have to admit, I’m not a museum person (perhaps old enough to be in one but museums aren’t usually high on my list of priorities); however, my visiting Granddaughter Becca is a musician and expressed an interest. What a lovely surprise. It was magnificent. I will only give you a taste of what it […]
Ask a RVer why they boondock and you are likely to receive a variety of answers. Some boondock for the solitude, others for the convenience and some for the cost savings. Many, like my wife and I do so for all the reasons above. However, there is one more benefit of boondocking that rarely gets mentioned…. […]
The incessant drip, drip, drip of water along the underground tour route indicates that the cave is active and alive. Stalactites hang from the ceiling and stalagmites grow up from the bottom of the cave. Soda straws are short stalactites that look as if they’ve been broken off, but really they just haven’t formed into […]

Developed by a team of doctors, GolferAID is 100 percent natural and contains no artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, or caffeine. Each 12 oz. can contains a mere 45 calories and only nine grams of sugar […]
On October 18-20, RVers from across America will gather at the Heber Springs (Arkansas) Community Center for the second semi-annual Workamper Rendezvous. Many will travel in their RVs, but some do not yet own a rig. Those folks come seeking information and encouragement prior to launching an RVing lifestyle. Most anticipate learning about combining the […]
