Until recently many coaches were coming from the factory with ceramic tile installed in the kitchen and bathroom only, with carpet in the main living area. The last few years manufacturers have been listening to their customers’ requests and installing the tile all the way forward to the front of the coach. Now that people are seeing this in the new coaches, they are coming to us wanting the same look. Tearing up the factory tile and installing new tile from the bedroom forward is a very labor intensive job, requiring hours of chipping and clean up of the old tile. While many customers do decide to do this, another less expensive alternative is to retain the factory and add tile from there forward.
Usually we recommend a nice mosaic border, then an offset color going forward. We normally maintain the factory pattern and layout with full or half tiles accordingly. The finished product eliminates all of the carpet at less than half the cost of a complete chip out and re-tile. We also did a flat screen installation in this coach.
