Last week we got buzzed in the Panamint Valley. Now if you are ready to escape to something even more remote or weeks of dry camping with your significant other are driving you crazy, head to the hills. Scattered throughout the mountains surrounding the Panamint Valley are restored historic cabins waiting to offer desert rats a little R & R. These cabins are part of the now defunct Adopt a Cabin program. While the program is defunct, the cabins still exist, awaiting their next overnight guests. There is no cost to stay in the cabins and they are on the first come, first served reservation system. Note: If Old Glory is flying on the flag pole then the cabin is occupied.
