Air Intake Systems Upgrade Engines

Volant Performance has introduced two new air intake system options for 2012-14 Ford F-150 pickups equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. 

TMG Performance Products, which owns the Volant Performance brand, says its closed box design protects the intake from high engine-compartment temperatures characteristic of turbocharged engines. A cooler, denser air charge decreases turbo lag, improves fuel economy and enhances towing capacity, the company says. “Drivers can expect engine horsepower increases of approximately 5 percent and torque increases of approximately 8 percent,” said Craig R. Kohrs, vice president and general manager.

The systems are available in two options, with different filters. One system is maintenance free and has a suggested retail price of $666.92 and the other requires cleaning the filter every 10,000 miles, and is priced at $610.16. For information, visit volant.com.
