Airstream, founded 81 years ago, had its best sales in history in 2012, the company reported, with a 16 percent gain from the previous year. Much of the gain reflected the success of the company’s Interstate motorhome, a Class B model whose sales were up 28 percent.
The company added 17 new retailers during the year. Meanwhile the company also announced that it is expanding its global business by appointing new dealers in China, South Korea and Australia. Airstream products will be redesigned to meet the specifications of each country and will be built at the company’s factory in Jackson Center, Ohio.
