{mosimage}Known as “the World’s Friendliest Casino,” Angel of the Winds already welcomes RVers by allowing them to park overnight, and it is soliciting input to help plan the RV park. A survey posted on the casino’s Web site invites RVers to rate which park amenities are most important to them. You can take the survey and enter a drawing this month to win a $100 gift certificate by going to www.AngeloftheWinds.com, clicking on the Events tab and looking for the RV survey.
The expansion project will add more than 84,000 square feet to the casino, and is the first major addition since the casino opened in October 2004. The improvements will include a 150-seat full-service restaurant, a lounge with live entertainment, a poker room, a keno lounge and a gift shop. It will bring the number of slot machines to more than 1,000, and provide room for 14 table games.
The casino features a large number of penny slot machines. During the week it offers 25-cent roulette, $1 craps and always keeps a $2 blackjack table open. The Bears Den Bar features three plasma TVs, and Katie’s Kitchen offers a menu with burgers, salads, sandwiches and more, including a popular sirloin steak special. The restaurant is known for its amazing 99-cent specials, offering such items as biscuits and gravy plus two eggs, a shrimp cocktail, salmon and chips, and strawberry shortcake.
Angel of the Winds Casino is three minutes east of Interstate 5 at exit 210, about 45 minutes north of Seattle and an hour south of the Canadian border, making it a convenient stop for many travelers. There is plenty of oversized parking available, and the casino even offers free valet service to park your rig.
