The device consists of a tube with two parts that can be pressed together around a bag to form a complete seal. Peel the parts apart like a banana, and the bag can be opened. The manufacturer claims the seals are more effective than chip clips in keeping bags completely closed. Banana Seals come in three lengths—7.5, 9.5 and 11.5 inches—to fit bags of various size.
Banana Seals are a product of Seal-A-Bag of Phoenix, Maryland, and are available at grocery, drug and hardware stores. A pack of 18 seals in assorted sizes sells for $19.99. For information, visit. www.seal-a-bag.com.
