If you would like to take a bike along on your RV trips, but are concerned about the room it would take, the answer could be the VeloMini, a folding electric bike.
The VeloMini folds to a height of 18 inches and weighs just 33 pounds. It has an on-board computer called pedal assist that activates the motor to make it easy to pedal uphill, or the rider can use the hand throttle and rely entirely on electric power.
The Velo-Mini is powered by a lithium-ion battery that can push the bike along at up to 12 miles an hour for a range of nine to 13 miles. It can be recharged in less than three hours.
Richard Pontes, owner of Discovery Electric Bikes, which markets the VeloMini and other Evelo electric bicycles, said the bike is ideal for RVers who want a convenient way to get around their RV park, go to the store or just enjoy a bike ride. The one-speed VeloMini is normally priced at $1,095 but is available for a limited time at $995. A three-speed version is $200 more.
