Family Campers and RVers, the nation’s oldest nonprofit family camping organization, will celebrate its 65th birthday on July 4. The organization, which was founded in New York, was known as the National Campers and Hikers Association before adding RV to its name in 1993.
Besides local, state and regional campouts, the organization sponsors two national events annually. The group’s winter Retiree Rally will be held March 25-31 in Canton, Texas, and its National Campvention will be held July 7 to 11 in Essex Junction, Vermont. Membership is open to people of retirement age as well as families with children. For information, visit fcrv.org.
