The Discover Pass, which the state of Washington requires for vehicles entering state parks, can now be purchased by drivers when they renew their license tabs through the Department of Licensing.
The $30 annual pass gives holders access to more than 7 million acres of parks and other lands managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, Department of Fish and Wildlife and Department of Natural Resources. The state Legislature established the pass this year as an alternative to steep budget cuts that would have required park closures. The Discover Pass can also be purchased from 600 vendors across the state and online at fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov.
