A new cargo management system called Mount-n-Lock provides an easy way to haul multiple items on the back of your RV or camper.
With this new device, you aren’t limited to taking just one item, such as a bike rack, on the back of your vehicle, but can add other cargo as well. Accessories are attached to an extruded aluminum rail to hold the cargo in place. The rail is available in bare aluminum (silver) or black powder coating and typically replaces the rear bumper on the camper (for those RVs with an integrated bumper, the rail mounts just behind it). Installation can be accomplished with standard tools and does not require welding. A steel strut bolts to each frame rail via holes you drill in the frame; the Mount-n-Lock rail is then bolted tight to the struts.
With the rail in place, you are free to utilize the entire width of your vehicle for attaching cargo accessories, no longer limited to the single attachment point of a hitch receiver. Additionally, because the Mount-n-Lock accessories clamp onto the rail, the shake, rattle and roll associated with hitch accessories are virtually eliminated. The RV rail has a retail price of $149.95 and the optional frame-mounting struts are $49.95.
Weight limits and load balancing are critical components of safe travel and were key considerations in the nearly all-aluminum design of Mount-n-Lock rails and accessories. The Mount-n-Lock rail weighs nine pounds per foot (making a seven- foot rail only 63 pounds). The Mount-n-Lock EZ-Tray is a 30-inch x 30-inch aluminum cargo tray that weighs less than 20 pounds, yet holds more than 10 times its weight. And the Mount-n-Lock EZ-Mate is an aluminum adapter that weighs less than seven pounds and allows you to use your existing hitch accessories with the Mount-n-Lock rail.
If you currently tow a dinghy and use it as a mule, there’s a solution for you as well. The Mount-n-Lock EZ-Rail attaches to a standard two-inch hitch receiver, providing you a four-foot wide rail to which you can attach Mount-n-Lock accessories. The EZ-Rail features a patented “Nesting Stabilizer” that grips the outer edge of the hitch’s reinforcing collar. With a few quick turns of the draw bolt, the entire EZ-Rail assembly is locked tight to your vehicle.
The Mount-n-Lock system not only provides extra cargo room, but is also a solution for those who don’t like storing dirty “outdoor” items such as bikes, grills, and generators, inside a vehicle.
