Club Car, which is the world’s largest maker of small four-wheel electric vehicles, including golf cars, has introduced a new charger known as ERIC that is designed to ensure that a vehicle is ready to go when needed.
The new high-frequency, solid-state charger eliminates the common error that occurs when a user thinks a car is receiving AC power but is not because of a faulty connection, bad outlet or defective circuit. A blue light is illuminated during charging and there are audible and visual alerts when charging begins. Status lights indicate when the vehicle is fully charged. After the initial charge, ERIC continues to monitor the battery pack and deliver power as needed. The company said that last feature is especially helpful if a car is used infrequently.
The new charger is enclosed in a sealed aluminum housing that protects it from sand, dust and moisture. ERIC is now a standard feature on Precedent electric golf cars. For information on Club Car products, visit clubcar.com.
