My Buddy RVs are wooden doghouses in the shape of an RV. The creator of My Buddy RVs, Bob Ruston in the Colorado Springs suburb of Fountain, doesn’t claim credit for the concept. He heard about someone on the East Coast who made an RV doghouse and decided to make one of his own, based on his 23-foot Gulf Stream travel trailer.
That project turned out so well that Ruston made three more as a hobby and as a test to see if he can create a little business to keep him occupied when he retires in about five years. Ruston said he bases the doghouses on RV factory brochures, striving to incorporate as much authentic detail as he can, down to rooftop air conditioning vents and satellite antennas.
Ruston is willing to make a doghouse to match just about anybody’s RV, with prices starting at about $300. You can find more information on Facebook at facebook.com/woodworkbybob.
