With Armed Forced weekend upon us and Memorial Day a week away, the patriotic spirit can be experienced on the 27-hole Woods Golf Course & RV Park in Cochran, Ga. The three nine-hole tracks reflect Old Glory with their colorful designations: The Red, The White, and The Blue.
The Woods Golf Course and RV Park features 22 full hookup RV sites, which are conveniently located adjacent to the 27-hole golf course. This pet-friendly facility also offers free Wi-Fi, 50 amp connections, water, and sewer.
Located about 120 miles southeast of Atlanta, the Woods Golf Course can be played in any 18-hole combination of Red/White, Red/Blue, or Blue/White. It’s appealing in any combination. For example, when standing on the 9th tee of the Red course, you look across a tranquil pond to a manicured green, rustic clubhouse, and a bank of azaleas.
Throughout the 27-hole course, you’ll witness beautiful, tree-lined fairways, large ponds, meandering creeks, greenside bunkers, fairway bunkers, waste bunkers, and even a handful of pot bunkers to catch stray balls on the links-styled Blue course. In addition, the Woods Golf Course has a large practice range with grass tees, a clubhouse with a limited snack bar and an abundance of friendly service.
Near the town of Cochran, tucked into northern Dodge County, you can experience a local treasure by visiting Tom Sawyer Farms. From April through early August, Tom Sawyer Farms offers fresh strawberries, onions, blackberries, and peaches. You can pick your own fruit, or choose from a selection of pre-picked delights. Famous for their homemade peach ice cream, Tom Sawyer Farms features covered picnic areas, a 10-acre spring-fed pond, and more than 120 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.
Another fun local activity is the Cochran Motor Speedway, which is one of the great race tracks in central Georgia. It features a 3/8th-mile dirt track offering loads of racing fun on Saturday nights from April through October.
