GrillGratesGrillGrates are designed to create a new and better grilling surface on your grill by protecting against charring flare-ups and by radiating the heat for fast, even cooking.
GrillGrates are interlocking panels that lie on top of existing grates or replace them altogether. The raised rail design provides superior sear marks. Juices, marinades and sauces can sizzle in the valleys of the GrillGrate to provide juicier, more flavorful food. And the design allows fats to drain off and burn on the bottom of the GrillGrate, not on the outside of the food.
Aircraft-grade aluminum is used in the construction to create an ultra-hard surface that conducts heat better than steel or cast iron and will not rust. The grilling panels come with the GrateTool, which fits between the valleys to lift food off the grill and doubles as a cleaning device to remove debris.
GrillGrates come in interlocking panels to fit grills of various sizes, and there are custom shapes for the Weber Kettle and Kamado grills.
The company is offering a GrillGrate travel kit that includes four panels that interlock to create a 13.75-inch by 21-inch surface for any grill. The kit has the GrateTool, a travel bag, an instant-read digital thermometer from Maverick, and Meathead’s refrigerator magnet that details proper food temperatures. The kit is priced at $99.99.
