The RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana, has reached a milestone in its financial recovery by paying off a $600,000 note that completed the purchase of the David Woodworth RV collection. The 12-year bank loan was paid off in two and a half years.
Darryl Searer, chairman and president of the Hall of Fame, said efforts continue to eliminate the organization’s remaining debt through a challenge campaign billed as a competition between the RV and manufactured housing industries. Each industry is being challenged to raised $1 million. Thus far, the manufactured housing industry has raised more than $615,000 in gifts and pledges while the RV industry has raised more than $100,000.
Searer said the Hall of Fame, which has become a tourist attraction and event center, could not have survived without generous support from many companies and individuals, but more help is needed. “For us to meet our goal of eliminating the hall’s debt we still need people to open their hearts and pocketbooks and contribute to the hall,” he said.Research Campgrounds, Plan RV Safe Routes & Turn your phone into an RV GPS.
