Fresh off a successful fund-raising effort that generated $270,000, the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana, has set another goal: to raise $150,000 by April 30 of next year to retire a bank loan.
The Ingram family, a major benefactor of the hall, created a $100,000 challenge grant that the hall more than met this year by raising $170,000. Now, the Ingram family has offered to contribute another $50,000 as a challenge grant if other donors will contribute $150,000 by next April.
With the money that has been raised so far and other savings, the hall has managed to reduce a bank loan from $828,000 to $283,000. By April if the new fund-raising effort is successful, it could pay off the balance, so the effort is being dubbed the Burn the Bank Note Challenge.
One of the first donations to the new fund drive is from Ultra-Fab Products, an RV supplier, which gave $2,500.
Donation information can be found at rvmhhalloffame.org.
Meanwhile, the hall is stepping up efforts encourage organizations and groups to rent its facilities for shows, meetings, parties and wedding receptions. It has added the Northern Indiana Event Center to its name and has created a website (northernindianaeventcenter.org) as part of a marketing effort.
