Two subsidiaries of Thor Industries, Heartland and Keystone, are undertaking major plant expansions in Indiana, to increase their capacity to build travel trailers.
Heartland is investing nearly $8 million in new and renovated facilities in Elkhart to increase production capacity by 20 percent and improve service. Heartland will expand facilities to produce lightweight trailers and toy haulers, renovate a plant to specialize in destination trailers, buy and renovate an office building and create a new service center to meet the needs of retail customers. The moves will add about 85 jobs in Elkhart.
Keystone has begun construction on a 120,000-square-foot plant on its campus in Goshen to increase its capacity for travel trailer production. The expansion represents an investment of nearly $6 million in facilities and equipment.
