To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Hershey Highmeadow Campground in Hershey, Pennsylvania, has taken a new name, Hersheypark Camping Resort, and renamed its camping areas to conform to its theme. The main street, formerly Matlack Road, is now Sweet Street.
The park, which opened with 50 campsites in 1963, now has more than 300 and recently added 10 deluxe log cabins, giving it a total of 37. The resort covers 55 acres and includes picnic areas, two swimming pools, a family fun center, an outdoor movie theater, and a general store called Sweets and More. The campground is part of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, so guests receive the best prices on admission to Hersheypark and discounts to other attractions. The website is HersheyparkCampingResort.com.
