Fairway Estates, which offers single-family houses and townhomes within a golf course in Sutherlin, Oregon, is attracting not only year-round residents but also those who like to travel south for the winter and enjoy Oregon during the summer. The community is gated, allowing worry-free trips, and townhome residents have their yard maintenance done for them.
For motorhome and travel trailer owners at Fairway Estates, there is RV storage close by. And if you have an RV you are no longer using, you may be able to trade it toward a new home.
Owner Ross Murry, who has developed more than 20 subdivisions, is building Fairway Estates in the middle of the Umpqua Golf Resort after moving greens and fairways to create lots with spectacular views stretching across the golf course to the Callahan Mountain Range and the Umpqua Valley.
Murry said 23 homes have been completed so far in a development that is designed to include 71 townhomes and 26 single-family homes. The subdivision is tucked inside the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth holes.
The Umpqua Golf Resort features an 18-hole, par 72 course set amid acres of rolling hills, lakes and streams. The resort has an RV park, long-term storage for RVs, boats and ATVs, a pro shop and a covered and heated driving range where golfers can work on their game year-round. Buyers at Fairway Estates receive a complimentary one-year golf club membership.
The homes are inside a gated community with private roads and lush landscaping, including a waterfall, ponds and fountains.
Townhomes range from 1,297 to 1,560 square feet at prices starting at $245,000. These are single-level homes with two or three bedrooms and luxury amenities such as granite counter tops, tile and hardwood floors, gas fireplaces and natural wood cabinets. The homeowners’ association dues of $90 a month cover exterior and landscape maintenance.
Single-family homes range from 1,817 to 2,302 square feet and start at $389,000. All have frontage on the golf course on lots that range from 6,500 to 9,450 square feet. Both single-story and two-story homes are available. Homeowner association dues are $36 a month.
There is also the option of buying a lot and building your own single-family home or townhome. Townhome lots start at $60,000 and single-family view lots start at $95,000.
