Host RV, which builds luxury truck campers, has introduced the first triple slideout, side-entry truck camper for short bed trucks.
Randall Pozzi, Host general manager, said the 2015 Aspen SB is a response to the growing popularity of short bed trucks, especially among urban buyers. Three slideouts provide extra room in the interior, which has a main floor area that is eight feet wide. Host builds its campers with an elevated floor, which not only permits a wide interior, but also leaves room for an exterior basement storage compartment that is 60 inches deep.
The Host Aspen SB has a queen-size bed above the cab and a dinette that converts into a bed. There is room for access on both sides of the bed, and for a wardrobe and linen cabinet on one side. Extra sleeping space is provided by a dinette that converts to a bed.
A 22-inch flat screen TV is on a swivel so that is can be positioned for viewing from the bedroom or the living area.
A rear slideout extends the area that contains an eight-cubic-foot refrigerator/freezer and a pantry. The galley on the driver’s side slides out and so does the 72-inch dinette/sleeper on the passenger side. Other features include a large bathroom with a full-size shower and large capacity holding tanks, including 65 gallons for fresh water, 51 gallons for gray water and 38 gallons for black water.
The suggested base price is $42,091, but many buyers add options that push the price to $50,000. For information, visit hostcampers.com.
