By attending national and regional rallies, over the 14 years that iRV2 was founded, members have come to know one another by their screen names. Putting a face to a name often develops long lasting friendships. In time, folks develop strong bonds and many consider themselves as family. Distance is surmounted by use of our Social Network Community however a hand shake and hug are always welcomed when we come together for a National Rally or a 6 rig campout.
As always, we made new friends at this campout by offering an invitation and outstretched hand to campers right next to us. The new campers told us that they had just purchased a new Ultralight trailer & truck and that this was their very first outing. Once they knew we might have some knowledge about RVs and were willing to share, the questions came along rapidly. The couple offered that they were on their way to Arizona from Connecticut for the winter and that she was the driver. We were pleased to answer their questions about everything from wintertime showers to brake controllers.
Our new friends saw that we were all happy to help but we had to take a number since we all can’t talk at once. The best thing we offered was to join iRV2, logon to the site, put a posting in the “Travel Trailer Discussion Forum” and sit back and enjoy the dozens of responses that would be posted. iRV2 is a Community that is all about sharing common experiences. Surely we offered, someone will have had the same situation that you are asking questions about since our Community is so large.
As the sun began to set in Wade, North Carolina we put up our camp chairs, grabbed our groceries and crock pots and made our way over to the Clubhouse for one of our favorite things to do, the Pot Luck Dinner. As always we had way too much food for just the few of us but we did eat well. We had fried chicken, bean, pasta dishes, casseroles and to finish up – watermelon squares, lemon and coconut cake. Nobody went away hungry and a great time was had by all.
Thank You Fayetteville RV Resort and Cottages for your warm welcome and outstanding support for the Carolina Campers

Bill, Camilla, Mike, Colleen, Denise, Bob, Frank, Hank and Brenda and Jimmy is taking the picture. You would have laughed, Jimmy had everybody’s phone on the table next to him as he took this shot. Jimmy said that he was going to buy a $1,000 camera but the phone does a great job – the camera lost out.
On a chilly day the best remedy is a number of good friends sitting around a warm campfire and having a great time.
