Jayco has added a new and even lighter model to its lightweight Jay Feather travel trailer series. The new version is the Jay Feather SLX, weighing under 3,275 pounds—light enough to be pulled by most minivans and crossovers.
The SLX is available in four floor plans, from 18 to nearly 22 feet in length. Â Two of the floor plans have tent expansions and can sleep from 4 to 8 people. Suggested retail prices start under $17,000
The SLX joins a lineup that includes the Jay Feather Ultra Lite, which can sleep as many as 10, thanks to 1,100-pound rated tents, convertible dinettes, J-Steel sleeper sofas and bunk beds. The tent extensions are of water-repellant DuraTrek material, which is built to resist mildew, mold, scratches and cracks and comes with a five-year warranty.
Jay Feather trailers are built on the Norco Next-Gen frame, with independent rubberized suspension, E-Z lube axles, aluminum rims and an optional axle lift kit.Â
