The Insignia is built on the Freightliner XCR series chassis with a Cummins ISC Turbocharged 360-horsepower diesel engine and an Allison six-speed transmission, offering five tons of towing capacity. Handling is aided by a 55-degree turning radius. The driver has the benefit of cruise control, a color back-up camera, daytime running lights, all-wheel ABS brakes, and the Freightliner Message Center with an LCD display that includes oil temperature, air pressure, fuel economy and other readings. A one-year emergency roadside assistance program is included.
{mosgoogle left}The home theater system, which is available on two of the three floor plans, has a 42-inch LCD HDTV with a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound system. There is also a 26-inch or 32-inch LCD HDTV in the overhead dash, and another TV in the bedroom. You can also include a 26-inch LCD HDTV as part of an optional exterior entertainment system.
Standard features include Corian countertops, a refrigerator with icemaker, a GE convection microwave, a recessed and sealed three-burner range, and a slideout dinette table. There is a 42,000-BTU furnace with auto-ignition, and a five-watt solar panel for chassis batteries.
