Kit Fox RV Park, near Interstate 5 in Patterson, California, is a handy overnight stop for freeway travelers, an attractive place to host RV groups, and a convenient base for exploring multiple attractions.
The 150-site RV park is 92 miles south of Sacramento in Patterson, a rural town that was modeled after the city layouts of Paris and Washington D.C. with a series of circles and radiating streets. The streets are planted with palm, eucalyptus and sycamore trees, and the town is surrounded by agricultural land, including orchards of apricots, almonds and walnuts.
The RV park, which opened six years ago, has pull-through RV sites with ample room for slideouts, full hookups with 20-, 30- and 50-amp service, and free Wi-Fi service. Facilities include a playground, rest rooms, showers and laundry facilities. Golf is available at discount at a nearby course.Â
Two clubhouses with full kitchens and barbecue grills provide an inviting social setting. And if a group includes travelers without an RV, Kit Fox has fully furnished fifth wheels available to rent.
Among the nearby attractions is the Delicato Family Vineyards, one of the country’s leading wine producers. Also conveniently within driving range are Yosemite and Sequoia national parks, Santa Cruz with its popular amusement park on the beach, and all of the attractions of Monterey and Carmel, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Cannery Row.
