The Vice President of Franchise Operations is a new position within the 47-year-old company, based in Billings, Montana, which has more than 460 franchisees across the U.S. and Canada.
“In this role, Jef is the ‘air traffic controller’ of our programs, projects and services that support our franchisees,” says President and Chief Operating Officer Shane Ott. “The camping business is changing, as is the entire economic and consumer landscape. KOA is unique in our ability to adapt and make improvements as the market demands. Jef’s new position is one part of our overall strategy to increase the value of KOA to our franchisees and our campers.”
“We are actively improving our services to our franchisees,” Sutherland adds. “We’re putting specialized business consultants in the field who work with individual franchisees to achieve best business practices and optimal operational success.”
“Our franchisees are not facing the current economic challenges alone,” emphasizes Ott. “Our home office team exists to support their efforts, and Jef will help us react and implement our extensive resources quickly and effectively.”
“I am excited to be working even more actively on behalf of our franchisees. They deserve the strength and support we’re able to give them. The theme of our recent KOA Jamboree says it all: ‘Together We Thrive!’” says Sutherland.
