Class C motorhomes are designed and marketed towards today's younger families. They are set up to carry more people and normally have more sleeping areas than the "Class A" motorhomes. What they dont take into consideration is the wear and tear a family with children will put the interior through.
Carpet is generally installed everywhere except the kitchen and bathroom, fabric upholstery on the sofa and worse yet on the dinette cushions where the kids eat their meals. This week we had a customer with a family come to us and ask what could be done to make their interior more family friendly.
He wanted to eliminate as much carpet as possible, and install a new sofa and dinette cushions. We suggested installing a hideabed, covered in ultra leather and equipped with an air-coil mattress. This would be easier to care for, as well as provide a comfortable bed. We built matching ultra leather dinette cushions with high density foam inside.
On the floor this customer choose to install a laminate floor. We installed a wood look laminate on all of the main flooring areas, as well as on the slidout where the dinette booth is. We removed the carpet in the cab area and installed a Ford factory molded rubber mat.
The finished product is an interior that will be easy to maintain and will hold up for years to come!
