{mosimage}Do you long for the wilderness experience while your significant other has visions of golf, gourmet restaurants, wineries and spas?
Moab, with its amazing diversity, will satisfy the cravings of both. Enjoy delicious dinners prepared by skilled chefs, cook over an open campfire, or whip up your favorite meals in the comfort of your RV. Taste the wine at one of Moab’s two wineries or sample the local ale at one of two breweries. Visit one of Moab’s museums, take a self-guided tour of the Indian rock art, or shoot a few holes at the Moab Golf Course, a lush green oasis that is situated amid rough, eroded, red cliffs and boulders, and is one of the most visually appealing courses in the state.
Fantastic fall hiking awaits you in Arches and Canyonlands national parks. With temperatures ranging from the mid 50s to the mid 60s, late fall/early winter provides sunny warm days that make hiking especially pleasurable. With the crowds of the main season gone, the serenity of the parks unfolds as you explore nature and take in the beauty. A breathtaking sunrise at Dead Horse Point State Park will set the mood for the entire day. Sunset in Arches National Park and a moonlit hike to Delicate Arch form a spectacular conclusion to your day with a wonderful memory sure to last a lifetime.
{mosimage}Many campgrounds are open year-round, including those on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). A large percentage of these campgrounds are located on the three national scenic byways for which Moab is a hub. While no hookups are available, many of these campgrounds can accommodate RVs and are clean and well maintained. If you want full hookups and all the amenities of a private RV park, there are several that remain open year-round. Or if you have chosen to leave the RV at home this trip, accommodations include riverside resorts, condos, bed and breakfasts, as well as a large number of conventional hotels.
Known as the mountain bike capital of the world, Moab provides miles of incredible riding trails, ranging from the low-impact Mill Creek Parkway, providing miles of in-town riding, to the Slick Rock Bike Trail, guaranteed to challenge even the most experienced riders. For those who prefer a less strenuous adventure, there are a multitude of four-wheel drive trails that will transport you into a magical world of breathtaking scenery. Visitors may rent jeeps or take guided tours with one of the many experienced tour operators in Moab.

Under a blanket of white or even a skiff of snow, the views in the parks are magnificent, with the glistening white snow creating a stark contrast against the red rock. Rock formations that go unnoticed during the other seasons suddenly come to life in the snow. Photo opportunities are spectacular due to the added dimensions brought out by the white of winter, where even a clump of sagebrush is transformed into a picture of beauty.
