The Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León crossed the oceans in search of the Fountain of Youth but if you’re RVing in the west all you need to do is point your rig to Southern California where hot mineral baths and a youthful approach to living at the Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort will help you feel years younger!
Why Snowbirds Love the Fountain of Youth
This acclaimed RV resort caters to snowbirds who want an active social life and first-class accommodations, but don’t want to spend winter in the chaos of city traffic and crowds. Offering an array of amenities and reasonably priced full-hookups or boondocking campsites to guests, the family-owned Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort has enjoyed a faithful repeat clientele for over 50 years.
We love it and so does everyone who comes here, come once and you will be spending all the winters here. I know we will. It is a little remote from all the large towns, but that makes for a nice day trip. Check this place out, you won’t be sorry. – iRV2 member Rusty Years
The resort is located on a picturesque hill about one hour southeast of Palm Springs near the Salton Sea, a world-class birding destination and a major resting stop on the Pacific Flyway. Snowbirds from the U.S. and Canada flock here because it’s an affordable getaway between November and April. They leave as soon as spring temperatures reach the triple digits around Easter.
Fountain of Youth Amenities and Fun
The major draw at Fountain of Youth are the sparkling healing waters that include:
- Two swimming pools, including a salt water pool.
- Rejuvenating hot mineral water spa
- 3 fresh water hot spas (1 salt water)
- Oversized waterfall spa
- His and hers natural steam rooms
But what keeps visitors staying all season are the endless ways in which Fountain of Youth is a community unto itself. They never need to leave the park thanks to amenities like a twice weekly farmer’s market, a small grocery and supplies store, a cafe and even a beauty salon!
Life’s little chores are made much easier with an on-site postal facility, state-of-the-art fitness center and two laundry mats — even a dog wash!
After your daily diligence, an endless variety of activities will keep your calendar jam-packed.
People here are so friendly they drag you into all their activities. There are about 88 different activities here, everything from dance lessons, clown school, drama club, ping pong, bocce, tennis, billiards, indoor shuffleboard, karaoke, too many things to write.
But perhaps the most unusual feature of the Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort are the dry camping sites situated at the highest point of the entire park on a scenic strip of gravel adjacent to miles of hiking and biking trails. These sites are available at an incredibly low cost ($19 daily, $119 weekly or $289 monthly during high season). Dry campers get to enjoy all the amenities that full-hookup campsite renters do, all while staying for a fraction of the cost.
We loved this park! We heard it was where boondockers go for a vacation and it’s so true. With our solar panels and water capacity we don’t need hook-ups and prefer to camp without them so the Fountain of Youth is ideal. They have a large dry camping area that is a little cozy side-side but very friendly and quiet. We heard very few generators running and when they did it was only for a short time. The swimming pools, hot pools, and steam rooms are all great and kept very clean. – AB-Hitchhiker, campgroundreviews.com
