Motorhome sales grew 7.3 percent in 2012, with Winnebago Industries edging Thor Industries to claim sales leadership for the year, according to Statistical Surveys, Inc., which tracks motorhome retail registrations.
Winnebago claimed a market share of 20.6 percent for its Class A and Class C motorhomes, compared with 20 percent for Thor, 12 percent for Forest River and 11.4 percent for Fleetwood RV.
Winnebago moved into the top spot by increasing its volume of retail registrations by more than 16 percent from 2011 to 2012.
