Stronger trucks and bigger RVs have prompted Torklift International to reengineer a receiver hitch to handle increased weight. Previously rated at 20,000 pounds, the SuperHitch Magnum has been upgraded and independently certified to an industry-rated 30,000 pounds.
The hitch matches the 30,000-pound towing capacity of the 2014 Dodge Ram.
“As new trucks are coming out with increased towing capacities, it’s important for those trucks to have a strong hitch,” said Jay Taylor, Torklift International general manager. It is also important, he said, that the trailer tongue be strong. The new SuperHitch Magnum has a tongue weight rated at 3,000 pounds.
“The trailer tongue often has the most tension and stress placed on it while towing,” Taylor said. “It’s critical that point of stress on the hitch be rated high to ensure safety and eliminate the chances of hitch failure.”
Torklift International, based in Sumner, Washington, offers the hitch with a lifetime warranty. For information, visit Torklift.com
