Nestled in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains, Mountain Valley RV Resort in Heber City, Utah, may be the newest RV resort in the country, but it has already earned a place among the elite. Opened in November 2013, this immaculate resort received a perfect 10/10*/10 rating from the Good Sam RV Travel Guide to rank among the top 100 parks in the nation. It is the only park in Utah to gain this prestigious rating.
Besides being loaded with amenities, Mountain Valley RV Resort has the benefit of being located in beautiful Heber Valley, a pristine area with endless opportunities for recreation. The park is situated on 15 acres with spectacular views of the legendary Mount Timpanogos, the second highest peak in Utah and the most popular hiking destination in the state.
If recreation is what you live for, the resort offers activity packages for even the most adventurous. You can take a rafting trip down the Provo River or enjoy its world-renowned blue-ribbon fishing. You can rent a Polaris Razr and drive right from the resort to miles of off-road ATV trails that wind through the shadows of Mount Timpanogos. People come from all over to play more than 90 holes of championship golf in this tranquil mountain valley or to take a sunset boat ride on one of three nearby reservoirs. For a more relaxing adventure, you can take a drive on one of several scenic byways to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Rocky Mountains or dine at a quaint restaurant while listening to live music.
Mountain Valley RV Resort has a wide array of recreational opportunities and activities on-site. Start the morning off by trying out water aerobics in the pool or yoga in the exercise room. The pavilion is a perfect spot for a group lunch while the kids play on the resort’s playground. In the afternoon, you can make a splash in the heated swimming pool. The resort has facilities for pickle ball, shuffleboard, bocce ball, basketball, horseshoes and volleyball. It also has a game room, laundry room and 16 private bathrooms with their own showers. After a full day of fun, you can try a soothing soak in the resort’s spa or enjoy sharing stories with other guests seated around a cozy outdoor gas fireplace.
This brand-new resort was designed to accommodate every type of outdoor adventurer, offering everything from big rig friendly pull-through sites measuring 85×30 feet down to standard 40×25-foot back-in sites. All sites have full hookups with 30/50/100-amp service. Cable TV and wireless Internet are free.
Resort Manager Cache Ferguson said the resort has been built with energy conservation in mind, using two different types of solar technology. The green initiatives use 30 solar panels that provide power to the clubhouse, and return electricity to the local power company when demand is met. A solar heating system uses 300 evacuated solar tubes to heat the two rest room buildings and supply hot water for the resort.
Locally owned Mountain Valley RV Resort is open year-round. For winter sports enthusiasts, four world-class ski resorts and some of the best snowmobiling in the state can be found nearby. The resort is located along Highway 40 in Heber City, 45 minutes southeast of Salt Lake City and 20 minutes south of Park City. For information, visit MountainValleyRV.com.
