The Titan`s 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine is capable of producing 390 horsepower and 401 pounds feet of torque.
Following the launch of Nissan’s new flagship, the Titan XD pickup, owners of travel trailers and fifthwheels will have more choices in the tow vehicle market after the auto builder announced that Standard (half-ton) version of the Titan will be available this summer.
The Titan, which is built on a separate chassis from the XD, is approximately 228.1 inches long (14.7 inches less than XD) and 79.5 inches wide, which is the same as the XD, with the cab size shared between the two vehicles.
Available in 4×2 or 4×4 drive models with three cabin configurations, including the Crew Cab, King Cab and Single Cab, the half-ton offers a choice of three bed lengths – 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet. Consumers even have a choice of five trim levels.
The Titan`s 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine is capable of producing 390 horsepower and 401 pounds feet of torque, and will be mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. A V6 gasoline engine will be available.
“There’s a strong family resemblance between the Titan XD and the Titan, with their shared, rugged, and exterior style,” said Rich Miller, Director of Product Planning for Trucks, SUVs and Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. and Chief Product Specialist for Titan and Titan XD. “The Titan will compete in the heart of the full-size pickup segment – the half-ton – while the Titan XD provides a unique solution for customers by bridging the cost and capability gap between traditional half-ton and ¾ ton pickups.”
