Online Boat Safety Course Is Free

The BoatUS Foundation has launched a new website offering a free online boating safety course that uses animation, videos and interactive activities. The course satisfies the boater education requirements in 30 states.

Chris Edmonston, the organization’s director of boating safety, said the course provides more than just basic information. “We will tell you, for example, not only how many life jackets you need to have aboard, but demonstrate in a short video how to actually fit a life jacket to a child so they won’t slip out.” The website can be found at BoatUS.org.
