Renegade, which has built a reputation as a builder of luxury motorcoaches and transporters for the auto racing industry, has expanded its motorcoach product line to include a new model targeting the general RV market.
Renegade’s new Ikon is a customizable luxury coach that retails for about $500,000.
Sales manager Danny Lagunas said Renegade is a niche company that has built motorhomes for RVers in the past, but this is its first model designed to appeal directly to that market. Until now, the 13-year-old company’s primary customers have been drag racers.
The Ikon is built on a commercial duty chassis so it can easily tow a trailer or a car, and is being offered with a Detroit Diesel engine that can be ordered with either 450 horsepower or 560 horsepower.
Features include an aerodynamic exterior for fuel economy, multiple air conditioning units, and quality crafted baggage and compartment doors for easy access to large cargo areas. Interior amenities include leather Flexsteel furniture and hide-a-bed, solid-surface Corian countertops, and polished tile flooring.
Lagunas said Renegade will work with customers through its dealer network to customize each coach to meet each customer’s needs. A variety of floor plans, and a long list of options, appliances and accessories are available.
Renegade/Kibbi builds its products in a 220,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Bristol, Indiana. For information, visit kibbi.com or call (888) 522-1126.
