Located just south of Fort Myers on the Gulf of Mexico, Silver Lakes is billed as the gateway to the pristine area called the Ten Thousand Islands.
Set on 104 acres, Silver Lakes offers a variety of amenities including its showcase nine-hole executive golf course flanked by two lakes. Other activities include three top-quality all-weather tennis courts, six shuffleboard courts, and six regulation horseshoe pits.
Silver Lakes also features two clubhouses with swimming pools and hot tubs, an exercise facility, library, kitchens, laundry facilities, restrooms and showers, meeting facilities, and large gathering rooms, which are the social centerpiece of this marvelous resort. This gated community offers 560 RV sites and is designed for rigs that are a minimum of 25 feet, including Class A and Class C motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. RV sites are typically 45 x 90 feet or 35 x 70 feet, all with concrete pads and landscaping. Silver Lakes also features 13 large pull-through sites.
RV sites are for sale or rent and offer full hook-ups including 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and cable TV. Telephone service is also available at all sites.
For those wishing to explore beyond the gates of the resort, Naples is known for its high-end shopping and quality golf courses. One of the main attractions is the Naples Pier, which was first erected in 1888. This is the city’s symbol and a popular fishing and dolphin-spotting destination. It’s flanked by miles of beaches with calm waters and sugar-white sand, including those at Clam Pass Park and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park.
A few other attractions to consider include the Holocaust Museum and Education Center of Southwest Florida, which is certainly worth a visit. Also, the Revs Institute has an impressive car collection and the Bird Gardens of Naples is an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
