Manufacturers will ship more than twice as many RVs to customers in 2015 as they did six years ago, according to the latest prediction from the industry’s trade organization.
The projected shipment total this year is 361,400 RVs, which would represent a 3.9 percent increase over the estimated 2014 total.
Richard Coon, president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association, told attendees at the National RV Trade Show, “This is a great time to be part of the RV industry. We’ve recovered from the recession with five consecutive years of growth, and we’re going to make it six in a row in 2015.”
The strongest expected growth this year is with travels trailers and fifth-wheels, with a predicted increase of just over 4 percent. Motorhome shipments are expected to go up by 2 percent.
