The companies are victims of a sharp decline in RV sales. National R.V. Holdings, Alfa Leisure, Western RV, Pilgrim International and Weekend Warrior also ceased operations over the past two years. However, at least one company is growing. Forest River, an RV company owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, recently expanded by acquiring the RV business of Coachmen Industries. In addition, a new company, EverGreen Recreational Vehicles, has been created in Middlebury, Indiana, to build lightweight travel trailers and fifth wheels, using wood-free, composite materials. EverGreen’s new Ever-Lite brand of travel trailers and fifth wheels will use technology that was being developed for Pilgrim International before it closed.
