Learn About Roadschooling Online
RV Masterclass announces a new signature course today, August 17, 2020, called Ready to Roadschool. The course will launch on Labor Day, September 7, 2020, and is currently available for pre-sale.
This announcement comes just in time for the “back to school” season to help parents who are thinking of roadschooling their kids make the transition. This also comes at an unprecedented time where many families across the country are unsure of how or when their kids will be returning to school.

What is Roadschooling?
Roadschooling is a growing trend where parents take homeschooling on the road. They utilize National and State Parks, museums, zoos and aquariums as hands-on, interactive classrooms. For many parents, however, the thought of combining homeschooling and traveling may seem daunting.

The course’s instructor, Kristen Murphy of Where Wild Ones Roam, explains:
“In talking to families who are exploring the world of roadschooling, the biggest hurdles are often the transition from their current, often traditional, school option to schooling on the road, understanding how homeschooling works while traveling from state to state, and keeping their kids connected when away from friends and family.”
Murphy has been a full-time RV traveler with her husband and two sons since 2018. As a roadschooler for this duration, Murphy understands the importance of hands-on learning and honing in on natural curiosities. She’s now combining her educational background with her professional writing experience to create a course that guides families through this process.
“The Ready to Roadschool course unlocks a strategic process, jam-packed with the tools and resources to oust the overwhelm and transform those roadschooling dreams into a reality,” says Murphy.
Are You Ready to Roadschool?
The course covers everything prospective roadschoolers need to know to get started. It will teach you how to create the right environment in your RV, to the impact of varying homeschool laws, and from the curricula options, to the reciprocity programs across zoos, museums, and parks.
“It is my hope that parents and families will gain confidence in knowing how to launch into their roadschool journey by easing the transition and gaining the tools and resources to unleash their freedom to educate their children in the great outdoors,” Murphy adds.
“Ready to Roadschool is the most comprehensive how-to roadschool course we’ve ever heard of. We’re so excited to be working with Kristen to get this course into the hands of RVing and non-RVing parents alike this fall when so many things are still uncertain,” says Caitlin Morton of Mortons on the Move and RV Masterclass co-founder. “Kristen is so professional and has a natural teaching ability. She makes an awesome addition to the RV Masterclass Instructor team!”
When asked if this course is just for full-time RVers, Murphy rejects the idea. She says, “This course is for any family deciding to roadschool, whether that is for two weeks, two months or two years! Full-time or part-time, this course is for you!”
