After a successful promotional partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) last year, the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association has renewed that commitment for 2016. Having already partnered with the LPGA in two events this spring, the RVIA’s “Go RVing” campaign will promote RV units, RV travel and camping at several upcoming LPGA Tour stops in the coming weeks.
The first event at the JTBC Founders Cup in Phoenix, AZ. in mid-March featured a Forest River FR3 motorhome, provided by Little Dealer, Little Prices of Phoenix. More than 1,260 golf fans toured the unit during the event.
The following weekend, a Thor Miramar type A and Winnebago Era type B motorhomes provided by La Mesa RV were showcased at the Kia Classic Tournament in Carlsbad, CA. and nearly 1,500 consumers walked through these units.
In addition to the RVs available for tours, the Go RVing campaign also featured miniature golf, autograph sessions with LPGA tour pros, Go RVing golf towel giveaways, and daily drawings for Avalanche coolers provided by Dometic.
“The LPGA tour stops provide a family-friendly environment to introduce consumers to RV travel and camping,” said James Ashurst, RVIA vice president of communications and advertising. “People who regularly attend these events have children, have higher discretionary income, and are likely to be in Go RVing’s target market.”
Future RVIA promotional efforts will be held at the following LPGA tournaments: The VOA Texas Shootout in Irving, Texas, April 28 – May 1; the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Alabama, May 5 – 8; and the Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia, May 19 – 22.
The Volunteers of America Texas Shootout is the only LPGA Tour event in the state of Texas. It will take place at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving.
The Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic will take place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Capitol Hill, Senator Course, in Prattville. This beautiful course stretches to nearly 6,600 yards.
The Kingsmill Championship will be contested on the 6,326-yard, par 71, Pete Dye-designed River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. Kingsmill is a proven venue that has stood the test of time, having hosted more than 30 professional golf events.
In addition to the on-site consumer promotions, Go RVing’s partnership with the LPGA also includes commercials on video leaderboards promoting the Go RVing display and Go RVing banner ads on LPGA.com to help drive visitors to the GoRVing.com web site.
