Mobileye, whose driver safety systems are incorporated into new BMW, General Motors and Volvo vehicles, has reduced prices and added new features to its aftermarket collision prevention products.
The Mobileye C2-Series, now available at Camping World, Car Toys, Al and Ed’s and other retailers, enables owners of RVs, cars and trucks to add collision prevention technology to their existing vehicles.
The flagship C2-270 includes a camera that is installed on the windshield inside the vehicle. The driver receives an audio alert and there is also a visual display to assist the driver. There are warnings if the driver is following another vehicle too closely or has deviated from his lane. And there are warnings if there is an imminent collision with a vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle or pedestrian, giving the driver time to swerve or apply the brakes. A new feature is a high-beam control system that automatically raises and lowers the high beam.
The C2-270 has an MSRP of $749. The new C2-200 has similar features but does not include a video display, only an audio alert. It is priced at $649. For information, visit mobileye.com.
