Seattle Water Sports, which has been selling boats and water sports gear since 1995, has expanded into the RV field as a dealer for Wilderness travel trailers built by Heartland Recreational Vehicles.
Owner Mark Lord said he chose the Wilderness brand based partly on his own RVing experience, since the first RV he owned was a Wilderness. The trailers are designed to be light enough to be towed by lighter duty trucks and SUVs, yet they have the features of a larger RV. A distinctive feature is the Curvilinear Roof, an arched ceiling that provides up to seven feet of height inside.
The dealership is stocked with Wilderness trailers from 19 to 28 feet in length. Notable features include a large kitchen with an open prep area and ample storage, a booth dinette with a table that can be moved outside to a patio, and a bedroom that has room to walk around a queen-size bed and contains his and hers wardrobes and under-bed storage.
Seattle Water Sports is a family-owned business with the motto, “Committed to Family Fun.” The emphasis, Lord said, is on customer service.
The dealership is located in Kenmore at the north end of Lake Washington. In addition to RVs, Seattle Water Sports sells new Chris Craft, MB and Chaparral boats and a variety of boat trailers. It also offers indoor and outdoor boat storage, marine service, lessons in water skiing and other water sports, and it includes a pro shop offering all kinds of boat and water sports equipment in 5,000 square feet of space.
